Six Years Today!!!

Happy Anniversary!!!

Six years ago today my husband and I got married in the Bountiful, Utah Temple. It snowed 7 inches during our wedding and the roads were horrible! My family had to leave Christmas day to make sure we beat road closures, and I was worried his family wouldn't make it. It continued snowing the entire week and we had some interesting drives to our hometown receptions.

My how the years have flown by. We've had 2.2 children since then and have almost finished schooling that we have been involved with through our entire marriage. We're looking forward to many more years together and the joys and challenges that life will bring!

Merry Christmas Liz and Jeff!

My older sister, Liz, is always doing wonderful things for our family and we wanted to repay her. I asked Lee to use his artistic talent and this is what he did in the two days leading up to Christmas:

Merry Christmas!

Christmas 2009

We spent the Christmas holiday with my family. The girls love visiting their Grandma Ferris, but my sister Torrey, has a puppy named Winston that they are afraid of. In a unique display of sisterly affection, Taylor is protecting Kadie from him while they watch Dora a few days before Christmas.

I love the family tradition that we have in which we get to open one present on Christmas Eve. The girls opened pj's from the Ferris family this year and here they are modeling...

"Santa" pooled money with Grandma and Grandpa Ferris and brought the girls a dollhouse for Christmas. The appeal is that it has two sides so they could play together without fighting, but after watching them fight over sides today, I guess that was a lofty dream. However, they love moving the furniture around and seem pretty happy with it. I love miniatures growing up and I think that this is every little girl's dream. I think they will enjoy this gift for years to come.

And last, but not least, the traditional picture of the other Christmas gifts. The girls got lots of adorable gifts including books, puzzles, coloring sheets, clothes, a doll, a baby, and more. They loved the gifts!

(Kadie refused to pose with her presents. She spent the morning digging into the marshmallow Santas from our socks and any other candy she could get her hands on and by this point I think she was overstimulated or just plain over-sugared.)

Hope Everyone Had a Wonderful Christmas and Wishing You All A Happy New Year!

I saw Santa!

Taylor has been waiting months to see Santa at a Christmas church party. She was one of the first ones in line and was super excited. She told Santa that she wanted a (toy) baby from the store. "Santa" has other awesome toys, but unfortunately they don't include a baby. Hopefully she will be impressed with the other toys and not be too upset. "Santa" did get her an Ariel doll, so maybe that will pass off as a baby. Too funny. I don't have a picture of Kadie with Santa because she refused to even walk up to him. She was willing to accept a candy cane though.

Santa's Little Helper

After coming home from our Thanksgiving travels, Taylor couldn't wait to put up the tree. She couldn't get the items out of the storage box fast enough and can't wait for Christmas. Unfortunately, I can't store any presents under the tree or they will be opened, but she is super excited to get presents from Santa this year!

My Little Turkeys

My girls were troopers over the Thanksgiving holiday where we spent a week with my family, then met up with Lee's family for almost a week after that. Driving by myself was stressful, but they were good girls. I must say that all that travel sure made them goofy...

Happy Thanksgiving!

We actually spent Thanksgiving with Lee's family in Star Valley, but here are some fun Thanksgiving crafts the girls got to do during Library story hour and with friends at Julie's house:

Thanks for the hat fun Julie!

Over the River and Through the Woods...

The week before Thanksgiving Taylor didn't have any school so we decided to take off early and go visit my Grandma Ferris for the week. We spent a lot of time at the park since she had school all day. This is the coolest park ever and the girls had a lot of fun!

Our First Stitches

Well, we've had our first official doctors run to get stitches. I was washing Taylor's hair in the tub and Kadie got out to use the potty. When I turned around she was standing on the toilet to get her Elmo potty seat down and when I told her to get down she slipped. She hit her chin on the back of the toilet on the way down and gave it a good gash. I immediately laid her down and put pressure on it with a washcloth. It really didn't bleed that much. Here's Kadie showing off her new blue "whiskers."

She was quite the trooper. She didn't cry when it happened. At the doctor's office they had to strap her to a papoose board to keep her still and she freaked out. She is afraid to lay on her back on high surfaces and she hated every second of it. The second they were done and she got up, she stopped crying and was fine. What a big girl. She is now sporting a set of 5 stitches of the next week. It was a scary experience to handle for the first time, but I'm glad she is ok.

EEK! Monsters!

Taylor was drawing monsters in a notebook that she calls her homework. I think that her drawing has come a long way. The green one is supposed to have on headphones "like daddy has." How cute!

Happy Halloween!

Trick or Treat:

My Pretty Princesses:

Kadie's First Haircut

We got Kadie's hair cut for the first time yesterday!

I didn't want to have them cut too much off because I didn't want to lose this curl:

Kadie's opinion of her hair cut:

Ok...She's ready for Halloween. Bring on the candy!
