Discovery Gateway

So...On to the rest of our family vacation now that I am three weeks behind in blogging...The Children's Museum was awesome. It started out with this huge beehive structure that housed a lot of ways to play with these little plastic balls. The girls spent a lot of time here.
Outside the beehive, Lee did a good job keeping Kim occupied!

After the beehive there was a construction place and a model house to play in, but the girls didn't spend much time in those areas. There was also a toddler section but we didn't use that either. They enjoyed the water table...
And both of them spent a lot of time in the farm/grocery store!
Then there was the rock wall...Taylor mastered it a few times, but Kadie spent most of her time at the water table or store.
The upper floors had some tv station booths, a stage, and a place to build things, but it didn't seem as well designed as the first floor.
Finally, there was a helicopter they could play in on the balcony.
Overall, the girls had a lot of fun here, but I think that I was more impressed with the children's museum we went to in Vegas on our last family vacation.

We're going to the Zoo...

We had a blast at the zoo. (The only downside being they had dinosaurs that moved and made noise throughout the zoo and they totally freaked Kadie out, thus, she wouldn't pose for any pictures).
There is a park at the end and Taylor tried repeatedly until she could cross the bars all by her self. Way to go Taylor!
They also have a little train ride at the zoo. Kimberly enjoyed it for the most part...
...Until they blew a whistle going through a tunnel!
It was pretty warm out and we had just climbed a steep hill:

And here's a slightly better family picture:
I'll try not to bore you with a bunch of random animal pictures but these were my favorite:
One of the current big attractions is the baby elephant:
It was awesome to watch this tiger play with the tube in the water:
This cute little owl is full-grown. One of her eyes got infected in the wild and had to be removed. Since she can no longer hunt, she now lives at the zoo.

Kim's New Trick!

Kim recently mastered rolling over and is a pro! The second you put her down on her back she rolls over and can make continuous rolls to get to where she wants to go (usually over to her big sisters). On this vacation, after a little practice, she started sitting up by herself for short periods of time.
A little help here!
Sitting all by herself:
Yay! Big girl!
Cute side picture. We toured the conference center roof. It was really fascinating but it was also raining. They asked if our baby was going to be okay and I told them she was from Wyoming and she could handle a little rain! She did get tuckered out though and fell asleep like this:

Liberty Park

After a crazy day of shopping, we spent the evening at Liberty Park. They had the water turned on and we had a blast playing in it. Taylor was super brave and ran right in!
Here's the soaking wet end result:
Kadie was a lot more cautious and didn't think getting wet was such a good idea...
I grabbed Kadie and ran her through the water a few times and she enjoyed it. You can see a video of it if you are my friend on facebook. I saw Lee coming out of the corner of my eye and thought he was going to run her through too. That was my mistake. He grabbed ME instead and despite a valiant effort to escape, he pulled me into the water and held me in until I was soaked too!
The girls also enjoyed playing in the sand at the park. We haven't done that in a while!
Kim finally woke up and got to join in on the fun. She got to chill in a baby swing and enjoyed the ride long enough for us to get some cute pics!
My handsome hubby at the park...or should I say the guilty party:

We are F A M I L Y...

Here's some more pictures from the wedding we attended. (See the previous post or visit: www.tracyandlauriewedding.blogspot.com to see more photos ). Beautiful day for a wedding in the Logan temple!
The girls really liked the flowers (and the fountain...
I think Kadie took a drink from it at one point.)
There was a reception at a local church building afterwards. It was fun to get family together and to meet additional family as well!

Lee and his sister, Kristy:
Kristy, Amanda, and Josh
Taylor and Kadie had fun playing with their twin cousins, Josh and Eva. Someone supplied glow-in-the-dark bracelets for the kids to play with.
The twins checking out Kim:
It was really nice to visit with family we haven't seen in a long time and get everyone together for a few pictures!
