My Little Dancing Queens

Taylor and Kadie had their dance recital on June 8th.  They did an amazing job dancing!  I like having them in dance because I feel like it gives them confidence in their bodies. So proud of their performance and their willingness to dance in front of an audience!!!

Here are my dancing beauties:
 The Butterfly:
(Kadie's class did two songs and her second one had a lot of cute sassy attitude in it...)

In the Summer Time When the Weather is Hot...

Memorial day weekend my best friend (that we recently saw over spring break) surprised us by knocking on the door and staying to visit for a couple of hours.  It was fun to see her twins again and see how they've grown since we saw them last:
Taylor and Kadie have their dance recital tonight.  They have to have their hair french braided to the side up and.  (Kadie's half way up since she has a hat with one costume and Taylor's in a bun since she is in ballet.)  I have never french braided before and it was an adventure.  This is how they looked after I 'practiced' doing their hair and make-up.  We have such beautiful girls! (Which translates to "oh boy are we in trouble come teenage years...")  I will have more pictures of them in costume later after they have their big night!
Taylor, Lee, and Cocoa, went on their first camping trip of the season last weekend.  They hiked above the falls and had fun doing a camp cookout and hiking.  Taylor is getting bigger and Lee let her carry her own sleeping bag and a few smaller supplies.
As promised, her are pictures of the swing set that Lee spent all Memorial Day weekend on.  This is where we will be spending time this summer!

Whatever happened to May?

I don't know about anyone else, but May sure flew by in a flash.  I can't believe that it is already June!  May was a super busy month and I am excited for Summer.  Since I slacked the entire month and didn't blog, I will recap it all in one post:

For starters, I got a new part time job.  I am now a WIC technician.  (Meaning I am essentially the receptionist and I check people in, answer phones, etc.)  I think it uses my degree of Family Life Education and I thoroughly enjoy it.  The computer system hasn't been too hard to learn and I love the hours.  It is two and a half days a week so I feel like I get to get out of the house and interact, but I am still "Mom" most of the week.  Right now it is a dream job for me!

My nephew, Chase, turned eight on May 4th and got baptized.  As always, my mother likes to grab a couch photo of anyone present.  As always, they are a quick shot and everyone is not always happy about it.
Kadie had her kindergarten concert and did such a good job!  The theme was 'Commotion in the Ocean' and the songs were themed accordingly.  Now I have 'Down by the Bay' stuck in my head...
Kim's classic "cheese" face while watching her sister sing:
Taylor, Kim, Grandma, and I went to Casper to visit a good friend of mine and shop over the Mother's Day weekend.  I needed some new business clothes as the only ones I had were from when I was barely pregnant with Kadie.  I scored at Kohl's and ended up with a ton of new clothes.  What more can a mom ask than to spend a weekend shopping?!?!

We usually try to leave one kiddo home with their dad when we go to Casper so there is less fighting, and one less kiddo to keep track of while shopping.  Kadie stayed with her dad and they spent the day with friends of his.  They got to go out to dinner and ride horses with these friends.  Kadie said she had a lot of fun, but judging by her face, I think they made her nervous:
What better way to start the summer than with a visit from the Scwanns man?
Grandpa has been home visiting and Kim has loved it.  She loves terrorizing her grandpa.  I'm not sure what they were playing, but she ended up in the garbage somehow.  Too cute to not take a picture.
Lee spent Memorial Day weekend building the kids a new swing set.  Pictures of that coming soon!
