First Day of School

So I'm almost a week late, but better late than never! Here are Taylor's first day of school pictures. Growing up, we took them in front of the door, but Taylor and I had to move to the side of the house since the sun was so bright. It was kind of bright there too so we had to move even further over...
Her cute backpack that is just the right size for her:
Taylor absolutely loves going to school. She doesn't say much about it when she gets home from school. I thought I would never hear the end of it about her day, but she must be so tired that she doesn't have much to say. She enjoys her class and even got a "best buck" for being such a good listener in class today.

P.S: This is what happens if I let her sit down for too long after school:

My Little Poser

I wanted to take a picture of Kadie's hair in a ponytail since I don't do it that way very often, but she decided that I needed to take a bunch of pictures. Here are her poses...and they were all her ideas!!!
Can you say attitude?

A Camping We Will Go...

Lee went camping earlier in the summer and Taylor begged to go, but he was hiking too far so she had to stay home. He decided to take her on own special camping trip so they went on an overnight camp-out. It was the night of a meteor shower so they got to see a lot of shooting stars as well! She had a blast and is already asking when they can go again.

Swimming Lessons

Thanks to a heads up from one of my friends, I was able to enroll Taylor in swimming lessons on the first day of the last session! She took the last available spot. I had been wanting to put her into them earlier, but she had been at Grandma's house off and on and we kept missing the sessions. She loved every minute of it! Here she is showing off her new suit:
She was able to pass her level and was one of the kids that wasn't shy of the teachers or scared to try some of the new things. From a girl that was afraid to get her face wet or even get into the bigger pool with her mom or dad, she came a long way. She was even willing to get dropped off the diving board while wearing a life jacket and was able to jump off the sides into waiting arms in the deeper pool. Way to go Taylor!

Carnival of Fun?

Taylor was super excited to see that the carnival was in town so we decided that we would stop by and let them ride a few rides. I couldn't ride any of them and the girls were too short to ride any but the kid ones, but it was still a fun family outing. Taylor enjoyed every second of it. Kadie seemed excited to go on the rides, but would scream once we put her on one so we would have to take her off and get the ticket back. So here's what our trip to the fair looked like:
In the end, Kadie was able to get a little braver and ride a ride or two. She picked the car ride and then was able to go through a fun house as long as daddy went with her. He was a little tall for the slides and it was pretty funny to watch!

Tuckered Out Tots

My kids fall asleep doing the funniest things sometimes. The other day after church, Taylor took a nap in the bedroom, but then walked into the kitchen and fell back asleep in one of the kitchen chairs that was just sitting in the middle of the room. When she woke up, she asked if I put her there. Too funny that she didn't remember walking there herself!
Kadie also moved herself a while back. She was asleep in her bed while Lee and I were watching TV, but we found this later on. She had moved herself to the hall and fallen back asleep (The baby gate is to keep the dog out of her room, not to keep her in!)
