4th of July Weekend

So it's a little out of order and way behind, but here are pictures from our 4th of July weekend in Star Valley. The girls love to go to the park and it is only a few blocks from Grandma Jane's house.
Notice the "Warning" sign under her face...yeah...watch out for those baby blues:
Lee also hiked the older two girls up to the Intermittent Springs. They had a lot of fun having special time with Daddy.
Love this shot of Taylor throwing rocks...she caught air!
(and you can see the rock if you look for it...)
4th of July parade in Afton:
While we were at the park we could see a lot of smoke. On our way home we investigated the source of the fire and found this:
Someone's house was completely engulfed in flames (due to fireworks we heard).
We drove by it the next day and it was just a shell of a home. How sad!

Taylor's Birthday

Taylor had her 6th birthday earlier this month. I think we did an awesome job because we were able to get her everything she asked for and that's always fun :). Her main requests were a scooter, a necklace, and pink gum. I had already gotten the necklace and scooter long before her birthday and gum is an easy request to fill! Poor Taylor had to wait for three weeks to go by from Kadie's birthday until it was finally her turn to open presents.
Absolutely love her face in this one.
Polly pocket present from Liz and her family:
We had a day of it making her poor cake! She wanted to help make it so early in the morning we had all the ingredients in and stirred. We decided to make it pink so we added a little bit of food coloring. I left her the bowl to stir and the next thing I knew...entire bowl had spilled down the cabinet, all over the floor, and under the fridge! Cake batter is extremely messy to clean up! Naturally we didn't have the stuff to make another one so back to the store we went. Second cake came out without a hitch, but while making our favorite frosting, I forget to add the butter. Discovered the missing butter hours later in the microwave where it was 'softening'. I couldn't figure out why the frosting wasn't working at the time. First attempt made it runny so I tried to put the cake onto a new plate and it broke, but we were able to cover the cracks. Taylor decorated it herself.

Kadie's Birthday

Kadie turned 4 towards the end of last month. We celebrated on her birthday, but I am behind on blogging if you consider that Taylor's birthday has also come and gone. The past four years have certainly flown by. Kadie adds so much life and laughter to our family. This year I made her a rainbow cake out of mini-cupcakes. It was fun and turned out pretty cute!
Here's the birthday girl ready to let the unwrapping begin:
Taylor had a hard time with the fact that it wasn't her birthday yet...

Princess Party

Last month I took Kadie and Kimberly to a Princess Party that our Relief Society (a women's group in the LDS church) hosted. It was a lot of fun. The meeting started with a story and thoughts on women/girls as princesses. After that, there were stations that you could rotate through. A friend held Kim while I made her this flower clip (yes...it's as big as her head!), Kadie and I made crowns together, and then we painted Kadie's fingernails her favorite color. It was one of the most entertaining meetings I've been to.

Taylor was out of town with Grandma Ferris so I made her a crown and modeled it for her.
Fun quote they handed out at the end:

I am a child of royal birth;
My Father is kind of heaven and earth.
My spirit was born in the courts on high.
A child beloved, a princess am I
